Are you happy? Do you know what makes you happy? Too often we fall into a trap of believing that we will be more happy when we have more—success, money, status, fame or other external measures. Yet, if we take the time to focus on our personal happiness, we will quickly discover that when we focus on doing those things that bring us joy and happiness, that we will attract those extrinsic things we desire.
When we are happy we exude positive energy and people are more likely to want to be around us—even help us. Happiness attracts success. Success in itself will not bring happiness.
In business customers want to do business with people who are positive, smiling and enjoying what they do. In personal relationships, people are attracted to others who smile, are positive and passionate about themselves and the world around. People who complain, whine or otherwise are quick to find fault and problems with themselves, others or the world, are unattractive and repel people and therefore opportunity.
Don’t worry, be happy.
So as we journey into another new year, I urge you to focus on what will make you happy, and not what you think will make you more money, success or status.
